Work on new office block delayed

11:10am Thursday 2nd February 2012

DEVELOPERS have been given more time to start work on a major office block.

In 2009, the owners of land off Roach Bank Road, on the edge of the Pilsworth Industrial Estate, were given permission to build 13 two-storey office blocks, holding a total of 18 units, and served by 327 parking spaces.

Bury Council ruled one of the conditions was that building work must start by February 2012, and the landowners asked for a time extension.

Bury planning committee granted the application, although two people formally objected.

Committee members were told the land was not on green belt and the area was set aside specifically for industrial use.
